Bargain Summer Essentials

Hi everyone! Exciting news, I've just booked a holiday for next week! I know very short notice but myself,my best friend and my mom just got a mad fit and booked the tickets. Not to mention they were dirt cheap, yay for Ryanair! So basically what I'm saying is that I'm going on a foreign holiday where it is in or around 30 degrees and I have nothing planned, help!

Whilst thinking of a topic for todays blogpost I decided to do a Summer/Foreign Holiday(if like me the country you live in doesn't get warm during summer, it's basically winter it's so cold.) Essentials On a Budget! Hopefully you will have more time then me and or be more prepared than me before you go on holidays.

So my first summer essential is BB cream. If you don't like to wear foundation you could just skip this step however if you do than I think wearing BB cream would be a nice change from a full coverage foundation. There are also alot of BB creams available if you're on a budget(which most teenagers are anyway). I know Rimmel does one and Essence does one too. Most Essence products are really cheap and quite good quality too considering most of there products are under 5 euro. My favourite BB cream is by Maybelline though and it's the one with salicylic acid in it, I think it retails at around 8 euro/£7 so compared to high end brands this is a really good price and it also helps fight break outs because of the salicylic acid-win!

My next summer essential is waterproof mascara. I don't know about you but I cannot go outside the house without mascara or my eyes look so puffy and considering my eyes are literally huge, this is not a good look. Waterproof mascara holds a better curl than normal mascara and that's why I normally pick that up instead, plus it doesn't run which is a huge plus! All of my favourite mascaras are by Maybelline and they are The Falsies Waterproof version which is actually a perfect mascara and for the price of it, it's such a bargain! The next one is the Rocket waterproof mascara which makes your lashes look really voluminous. I also like Benefit They're Real mascara but this is quite pricey and not really a budget product, however it is a brilliant mascara!

My next favourites are a nice handbag-Pennys/Primark have some lovely cheap ones that are quite good quality. Cream eyeshadows are also a must have as they are so easy to apply and you can do so much with them- I like all of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. I also love gel eyeliner for Summer as it doesn't wear off as much as a pencil/liquid liner would- the one I use is Essence Gel Eyeliner which is around 4 euros and is one of my must haves all year round, it's one of the best gel eyeliners I've ever tried!

Most of these products can be found in any drugstore/big supermarket or Boots!

        Hope you enjoyed!

Becoming Vegan

Hi everyone! This is a personal-ish post.

So today I was at the doctors with my stomach which is an ongoing problem as my stomach just doesn't seem to like food or meat very much which means I can't really eat at all or at least eat the amount I'm supposed to be having everyday and that leaves me malnourished and tired on top of well you know constant nausea and stomach aches. As you can see I'm clearly having the best summer ever!

Anyway whilst at the doctors today she told me to eat small portions every couple of hours and to just stay away from any type of meat. I'm already dairy-free and have been for the past 6 months so being told to come off meat when I wasn't having it anyway wasn't as much of a shock to the system as being told I had to come off my beloved double cheese pizza, I'm getting serious cravings just writing this! So I was told to become a vegetarian and considering I'm already off dairy and don't eat eggs anyway I decided I might as well try and adapt a healthier lifestyle by trying to become vegan! Now I am not by any means saying that this is going to be easy or I'm not going to have a tough time but I do genuinely think it would all be worth it even for just a short while, whilst I get my health under control(fingers crossed!).

Plus there are so many vegan recipes and I'm pretty sure if you typed any type of food into Google with vegan after it there's some kind of alternative, I mean there really is no limits concerning what you can eat and I can't speak for vegans but for those of us who are dairy free for some reason or another, there's basically every dairy product you can think of- but dairy free(except for Daiya cheese which sadly isn't available in my country and won't be for a long time, sob).  So today I tried out a full day with vegan meals and such and to be honest it honestly wasn't as hard as I suspected and I had all I needed in my cupboards!

So for breakfast today I had a bowl of Kellogs Rice Krispies. I eat them plain and always have done but you can add rice milk if you like!

For lunch I had some baked potato with dairy free butter- the one I use is from Dunnes and is from the brand Pure, it's just a soya based spread that's supposed to mimic butter!

For dinner I had rice with cooked vegetables which was pretty filling considering my stomach problems and such.

For snacks I had dairy free custard(Alpro Soya) and some whole wheat crackers with peanut butter and jelly on- yes it was as nice as it sounds!

Will update soon on how becoming vegan is going for me, hopefully it goes well!

Tuesday 6 August 2013

Hi everyone! So sorry I haven't posted on here in a couple of weeks but I was in and out of hospital and generally just feeling really ill. Todays post is going to be my skincare routine for my oily/acne prone skin so what I use in order to keep my skin clear and spot free!

The first product I use to take my makeup off is this simple refreshing cleanser. This cleanser has a gel type consistency and is free from chemicals so it is excellent for my sensitive skin and I also use this to take some of my eyeshadow off if I am wearing it. This retails for around 2 euros or £1.50 and it can be found in Tescos, Dunnes and any other big retailers!

The next product I use is my La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel which is another cleanser however I use this product if I am in the middle of a breakout and I want something to battle it! This is seriously a miracle product for acne prone skin and it works wonders on mine! I would be seriously interested in checking out the other products in the Effaclar range. This retails for 14 euros/£13 so it is dearer than the simple cleanser however I think it is worth it and if you're like me when I'm breaking out I will do anything to help! This can be found at Boots or any other big pharmacy that stocks La Roche Posay.

The next product I use after this is my Clean and Clear Blackhead Cleanser, I use this with a cotton pad. If I have a few spots then I use this around the area I am breaking out in and it dries them out completely and helps then go away quickly which is what everyone wants! I wouldn't recommend this for very dry skin as it is quite drying on my oily skin and I can imagine how drying it would be on already dry skin. I do find when I use this I have to use a rich moisturiser after or else my skin feels quite tight which is not a pleasant feeling at all. However it does the job and I can't really complain. This retails for 4 euros/£3 and it can be found in Tescos/Dunnes or any big pharmacy chain.

The next thing I use is something that almost every household should have somewhere and that is baby oil. I use this to take off my eye makeup and waterproof mascara and it is honestly so much better than an eye makeup remover that you would pay a lot of money on! I use the Johnsons Baby Oil but I'm pretty sure that any other type of baby oil would work just as well! You can find this at any type of store weather it's big or small and the price varies.

Welcome

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog! I don't exactly know what is going to become of it but I think  this might be a sort of lifestyle blog. It could of course turn into something completely different which is why I've put 'think' in italics and underlined! I've always wanted to blog and I've been reading them for almost a year so I just had a moment of braveness and decided to make one! Anyway before I start blogging I thought I would write a bit about me.

1. I am 14 years old but 15 in October. I like to think I am more mature than some other 14 year olds though!

2. I've been really ill the last two years with a type of dysautonomia called POTS which stands for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. Basically it's not fun and I am bed ridden most days hence why I read so much.

3. I don't really have any passions in life except dancing which I am too ill to do so I'm not sure if that counts or not.

4. My favourite singers are Marina and the Diamonds,Lana Del Rey and Sky Ferreira.

5. I spent most of my time reading blogs and watching youtube videos and I would really like to become a well known blogger someday
